In my, the house hasn't changed, but a few things remain, the furnitures were gone and the paint's got a vain and some memories gone. Steps away. Where do they? You walk? Oh, again, I do the south. So far away, the heels all fly on. But the day dragging away and well into the, it's time for a change. So far, so far away the years are, lie on the days dragged away. Well, it's time for a change. It's all it, darling. Hey, don't be afraid. It's all the love. Is that what we are? Oh, thank you guys. Thanks. Thanks for, this was awesome.

The idea of the album developed in the early days of quarantine in New Jersey. We're at the height of getting thousands of new cases a day and afraid to leave the house. Everyone's just going through so much. You needed an escape. I have an idea for an album, but I think it was actually quarantine that made me developed the vision for the actual album Horton kind of shaped it. You might have like a certain group that you like to work with a cer a certain person that plays drums per se. You might really like their style. Yes. As you just saw with the Id Milo Lazatin, I like to throw him in the third. I just think that has such a nice ring to it. He's looking at me like, really Della, how many times you're gonna say it? He's from North Plainfield. He is a songwriter, film score, music supervisor and of course, singer, what does this documentary mean to you and that whole process that was involved. Um So this documentary, it was, it was just a once in a lifetime uh thing to, to do. We were, we started the album in uh the end of 2019 and then the pandemic hit in uh February and March, everything shut down. Um And uh the engineer and I, a guy named Bill Man from uh Blue Cyclone Studios in Flemington, uh we said, you know, we have all this time, let's figure out a way to finish the album um without, you know, but still be safe. And then uh my other good friend, Adam Shenoy of Green Eco Films was like, I, I gotta film this. You guys are gonna do this album um without being in the studio, you're gonna do everything through email and all this. Like I, no, no, no, I, I need to film this. So we, we started recording, we started uh sending tracks through email and, and uh some isolated um spots in the studio where we did our social distancing and, and uh Adam was there filming the whole time and he put it together and made this really great documentary. Uh So far it's screened in Newark uh in New York City as well. Um It's, it's been great ever since. It's, it's getting a lot of attention. It is. It is. Uh and hopefully it continues to do so as well because it's, it's a really, it's a short documentary but it's, it keeps you engaged and it brings you back to those, to those times where it just, you know, we, we didn't know what was going to happen and we didn't, did it? No. Where can people see it? Um Right now, uh we're still waiting on a couple more um uh festivals to accept it. Uh So right now you can see the um the teaser, the trailers on youtube. Um But right now, yeah, we're just still waiting for the next festival. All right, you've seen him strum his guitar. Well, coming up at noon, Milan shows us a different part of his body that he uses to play an instrument. You gotta check that out.

Violin. Lazin of North Plainfield is a singer songwriter, film scorer and music supervisor. Dude. I have to ask, how do you do that? I, I'm just glad my, my dentist didn't see that. Hopefully he didn't see that. You know, I it's like, I, I don't know how I was, I had a lot of free time as a kid. I just kind of, it was like, I wanna be like Jimi Hendrix and then it just kind of it, that's what it is. I don't know, Jimi Hendrix would be in awe. He saw that who you're working on a music video with Adam Chano who works here at News 12. Tell us about that. Sure. Yeah. Uh Well, I have a new album coming out. It's called Home again. Uh I'm working with Adam to do the, the, the first single which I'm, I'm gonna play the song today too. Uh Let's call it home again. Um And yeah, we're, we're, we're working together to do this music video. Um Looking forward to it. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Um And it's gonna just kind of showcase the song, showcase the album and yeah, it's gonna be, it's gonna be great. You and Adam have a lot going on. Tell me about that. Sure. Um We have uh a few things going on. We have a, a documentary going on. Um And also uh a good friend of ours, his name is uh Andre Joseph with AJ Epics films. Uh He's a mutual friend of ours. Him and I are actually doing, uh we did a film together where uh I actually wrote all the music for the film. It's a film called Marked. Um and it's going to be uh premiering at uh A MC studio. I'm sorry, a MC Theaters in Times Square on November 11th. That must be so exciting. We're all excited. Yeah, it's a very, it's a huge honor um film scoring. Do you get a rush from doing that? Because the most beautiful music comes from movies, you know, and it's, it, it was something I never thought I'd get into. Um And actually it was, it was my friend uh Adam Chinoy. Uh He was the, the first person to ask me to play music for one of his films and was back in college, um his senior senior thesis and I was like, sure I'll try it out. And then from there, I just kind of fell in love with the, just the, the synergy between music and film and how, how great they can come together. Can you believe though the way he played that guitar? With his teeth. A man is talented. I feel for the teeth though Milan has the coolest video called back to the Roots tomorrow at 6 a.m. He'll explain the story behind it.

The Captain Bruce rocked reggae with that East Coast sound. Ok. Rock reggae with Eddie's co sound. Yes. Sing it dude, Milan Lazin Stand of North Plainfield, singer songwriter, film score, music supervisor. There's a story behind this song and music video. Tell me about it. Sure. Um So my, my good friend, Adam Chano of uh Green Gecko films. He said uh he was on AAA film set and it got rained out. They had this whole Aber thing set and it poured so they had to cancel everything. And then Adam was like, no, no, no, let's let's film it in the rain. And he told me the story and I said that is an awesome, awesome idea for a music video. So we, we, we called out all of our friends. We all got together. Uh we had a friend that had a pool, we used her backyard. Uh we put the hoses up to the air and we just started jamming. We had a great time. We had a couple of guys uh on camera, I think two or three camera guys just filmed it all live and it was, oh my gosh, it was a lot of fun. I mean, you can even see it in the video. Just everyone had a great time. Just, yeah, it was, it was great. And this is on social media so people can watch it too. Yep. Back to the roots. Yep. That's what it's called. You have performed with the Warped Tour. Uh, yep. Warp tour. We, uh, I, we basically stayed with the New Jersey spots. But, yeah, Warp tour. Uh, a bunch of, a bunch of, uh, leather bands too. Um, uh, some of the ones that are more local to the Jersey area. Uh, George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic. Who? Yeah, how was that? That was great. So, I grew up in North Plainfield and a lot of the guys, uh, they're all from Plainfield and they're still from Plainfield. So, like, you know, when we were backstage, like, hanging out, you know, we're just talking about like, you know, you don't know what to really talk about. So we wanna talk about like, pizza places in the area and we're just like, oh, this is, this actually makes sense. I go to the same place. So, you know, it, it's really kind of fun when you meet, you know, you see these big stars on TV, or on the radio or whatever and you meet them and it's just like, you know, just having a conversation, you know, pizza people like you, there you go. That must be so exciting. Did you grow up around black and soul music because you've got a lot of that in you. It seems, you know, II, I guess you could say that I, I grew up in a very diverse town. Um, when I went to college I studied jazz. I was, uh, talk guitar from a blues guitar player. So it's, it's there and I love it. I love that type of music. So, uh, yeah, I guess I, I guess you could say that, love that song coming up at nine. We'll talk about Milan's family and a long time friendship.

This morning, we are chatting with Milan Lanz Stand of North Plainfield, singer songwriter, film score and music supervisor. You have two big festivals in New York coming up this month. I do, I do. Um There's the uh New York Long Island Festival. Um We have a couple of music videos in there that are actually, they're up for awards for best music video. Um And that's going on in October uh October 19th to the 21st. So uh we're excited about that. Um There's also, it's called the Urban Action Showcase in uh Times Square. Uh a film that I did the music for, it's called Marked uh will be screening and premiering there uh in, at the A MC theaters in Times Square. So a lot of, a lot of fun stuff coming up. That's a big deal. Yeah, I'm excited you and Adam Chinoy whom I mentioned work here at News 12 have had a long time partnership. How did you all meet we met in college? Um Adam had uh he was working on a senior thesis. Um He, he said I, I need music and I said I can help you. That's a good way to start. And, uh we, I was, we just, you know, we started, I was just kind of doing this little project together and, and we became friends and just, uh been making projects and, and music videos ever since. So it's been a lot of fun. What do you think it is that makes the two of you click and work so well together. Hm. I, you know, I'm not iii, I don't know. You all just like each other. Ok. You just, I mean, he's a great guy. Uh, you know, when you have like a really close friend, it just, sometimes you don't really know what it is but it just, it clicks and it works and, and, you know, you're, you, you could like, he's the kind of guy where I might not talk to for, for like six months, but then it's like the conversation never stops, you know, you pick up the phone and it's like we're right back where we left off. So it's, it's just a really, you know, everyone, I think everyone has a, has a friend like that or a family member like that where, you know, that conversation never ends. You know, let's talk about family too. Tell me about yours. Uh, sure. I have a AAA lovely wife, Ellen. Hey, uh, and my son Martin and, uh, and I love that name. Martin. Tell us about Martin. Is he like a little grown up? And a mini body. He is insane. In a, in a great way. I love you bud. I love you for a parent. I love it. Um, yeah, he's, I mean, he's, he just turned two. well, it's close to 2.5 now and I don't wanna call him the terrible twos. But they're, uh, no, no, no, they're called the Testy twos. I'm testing you to see how far I can go. Definitely. Yeah. So, we're doing a lot of testing. Yeah, I've already lost a lot of hair. So we're, uh, but no, he's, he's, he's been great parenthood is, he's our first and only so far and, and he's been a lot of, a lot of fun. It's been a great experience so far with him. Does he show any signs of wanting to sing? Like his dad? He, he does, he, we have like a little drum set that he, not a set but like a little conga set that he likes to play on and he'll, uh, he'll strum my guitar and just kind of make up his own little melodies and things. So it's, it's in him. He likes it. You know, we really wanna see Martin perform in studio too. Milan performs at several local venues. Old York Cellars in Ringo's Ale Elementary Brewery in Hackensack, Turf Surf and Earth in Somerville. Coming up at noon, he sings his original song home again.
