You designed it, right? Yes, I designed it myself. The logo I have a graphic designer that did it, but everything else I designed it myself Ambro took the picture. Yeah, that dress was actually blue. I turned it to brown so it can match, so it could be cohesive. It's perfect. The dress you have on today too. Thank you on you as well. I'm styled by Mac Lon locks and looks, so yep, she styled me my best friend Stacy. Stacy, I love that shout out. You have a studio in Essex County. Tell us about that in East Orange. It's in home. I do travel. A lot of my clients require me to travel, but if anyone would like to come to me, they can do that as well. So once appointments are booked on the website www.iam. Elizabeth.com, um, the information is sent out for where we are located and they can come right to me. How far in advance are you booked? I would think you're very popular, um, so that my clients do book at their leisure sometimes like I have clients that have booked last year for June of this year, but you know I always try to make myself available and you yourself, your makeup artist works with the View, yes, my mentor Karen Dupe, she's 4 time Emmy Award winning makeup. Artist, congratulations to her, she's amazing. Yes, I am, of course. She literally took me under her wing and led me and taught me the way, taught you the way. So let's talk about the way all the products and services that you offer. Yes, so I offer Naglam, which is what I'm well known for, which is what you see in the videos. Um, I also offer a full line of products. We have lip glosses, apparel, cosmetic bags, um, I even have an ebook so you can learn how to do your makeup at home. Makeup at home, you simplify it. Yes, there's a video that we can actually access, is that what you're saying? Yes, so I teach makeup classes and then as well as have an ebook that goes along with it with the set of luxury brushes that you can also purchase and it all goes together and I go step by step from how to put on a lash, how to line your lips, how to pick the perfect nude shade for all skin tones, yeah, how, what message do you like getting across to your clientele that makes you unique? Makeup is a great time when done right, um, a lot of times, especially as brown and black women, we shy away from colors and different type of looks because we think that it's not for us, but everything is for us. We're deserving of all the good things including good makeup application, good lip gloss, and great brushes.

New Jerseyans love to get back to their community and such is the case with Jessica Elizabeth, who was the owner of King Elizabeth Makeup Artistry. She's also a celebrity makeup artist and she is the co-founder of the Brooklyn Swim Club. Who is it named after? It's named after my daughter. Um, she's actually named after water. That's what Brooklyn means. Most people think it's the city, but she's named after water. I'm a water baby. I've been swimming since I was 5 years old, um, and then I was a lifeguard going on 20 years certified lifeguard. How did you enjoy being a lifeguard, you know. I didn't always enjoy it in the beginning. Now it's like literally the way that I give back. I see that and why did you want to give back through this method? So brown and black children are the highest rate for drowning victims. Um, after I had my daughter in COVID we would home school her so we would go to the pool all the time and while I was there and I'm teaching her how to swim I saw so many other kids who were in need. Of those same type of lessons. So from there we started Brooklyn Swim Club. First it was just, you know, not really structured lessons and people would come in and drop their kids off and I'll be watching a whole bunch of children and then from there we started to do private lessons as well as lifeguarding concierge service so when people do private pool parties they can reach out to Brooklyn Swim Club and we'll supply them with lifeguards. You say we, how big a staff do you have? I have 4 people that. Teach lessons with me and they are taught at where we teach in the summertime we teach in Orange, New Jersey at two local pools and then in the winter months we teach in Newark indoor outdoor pool that's heated. As cute as she is over there asleep with her grandmother Angela, does she come help you out at the pool? You know, we have a discussion every lesson and I say, Brooklyn, don't be a distraction, but she's like she's a little tough on the kids. She's like, put your face and blow the bubbles like this so you can have free swim. What reaction do you get from the kids and their parents when they learn and they they actually. Master this skill because I can't swim. Yeah, I know I need to learn to come. I should, yeah, the kids are gonna laugh at me, but go ahead. They're private so kids aren't around, um, they are an amazement. They're so grateful for it. Um, I try to keep the lessons at a price where people can afford to come. Swim lessons are very expensive. Thankfully my mother found a way for me and my sister to become swimmers, but a lot of those resources are no longer available, so I try to implement a. Business where those resources can be given to people and the prices are very affordable so they're always in astonishment that their children are able to swim so fast as well because it doesn't take long.

I'm having the best time talking with Jessica Elizabeth who is the owner of King Elizabeth Makeup Artistry and a celebrity makeup artist. She also, of course, gives back with the Brooklyn Swim Club which she co-founded. What upcoming products and future plans do you have? So, um, upcoming products we're working on a lip kit. Uh, where you'll get like lip gloss, uh, lipstick, as well as a lip pencil, and then we also have some more makeup classes coming about, eye shadow palettes coming about, so that's what we're working on for 2025. That'll be dropping soon. That's gonna be a big year. Let's talk about shout outs you have people you wanna thank. I would love to thank my hair Lex Lexis styled you as well as my nail. Tipsy T. I'm always thanking Ambrose because he works so hard and I'm always working him to death so I appreciate Ambrose for coming with me. He does all of my media and content, so anything that people see professional photos on my web page or website, it's all done by Ambrose. He does a great job. He does a great job. How do you want to inspire people to pursue their dream the way you are doing? I want people to know that two things one, God is real. Put your trust in him and he'll make sure that everything happens the way that it needs to in his perfect timing, but also, especially for young black girls that you too can do it as well. When I was growing up I didn't really see makeup artists come to schools and things like that for career day. It was always like cops or firefighters and sometimes. You're on this path, especially like me. I thought I was gonna be a doctor and then I decided I was gonna become a full-time makeup artist. um, I say we had that in common. I thought I was gonna go into medicine too to become a doctor, but go ahead, and you see where God placed this, right? And I tell people all the time that I've helped way more people doing makeup than I ever probably would have been a doctor. And I just am so grateful for those opportunities, but I really want black girls to see me and know that they can dream anything is possible. The sky is not the limit at all. There are no limits. This is your passion. Why is that important? Because It's what you feel it's what I feel it's what I know and it's also what I, what I've experienced. I've sat in makeup chairs I've sat as a brown girl not being treated right in certain spaces, especially in fashion in the industry so I make sure that everybody that sits in my chair, everyone that comes across my threshold that they thoroughly enjoy their experience, they get the most luxury experience because I know what it feels like to not have that experience and I wanna make sure they do every single time.
