A two-alarm fire damaged two homes early Monday morning in South River. At least ten people have been displaced. There are no injuries, according to the fire chief.
News 12 New Jersey was told the fire happened around 2:30 a.m. The front portion of the home on Thomas Street has significant damage due to the fire that also affected the house next door.
Firefighters knocked the fire down quickly and then mainly focused on putting out hot spots for the majority of Monday morning, News 12 was told.
The Red Cross was on the scene assisting two families with emergency assistance for temporary shelter food and clothing.
There is no cause yet on how the fire started.
