South Brunswick police: Car rolls over, injures man who sat in front of girlfriend’s car during dispute

Police say the girlfriend got out of the car to tell her boyfriend to move out of the way but left the car in drive. The car then rolled over her boyfriend.

Police say a man was hit by his girlfriend's car Monday morning in South Brunswick during an argument — but no one was behind the wheel.
South Brunswick police say they were called to a home on Harvey Road at 7:30 a.m. for a pedestrian hit by a car. They say a 46-year-old man was arguing with his girlfriend when he sat in front of the car to stop her from leaving.

According to police, the 37-year-old girlfriend got out of the car to tell him to move out of the way but left the car in drive. The car then rolled over her boyfriend.
Police have not released the identities of man and woman involved.
The man was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with serious injuries.
South Brunswick Traffic Safety Bureau is investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
