Police arrested more than 40 people in Somerset County Wednesday for allegedly selling and using illegal drugs.
According to prosecutor Wayne Forest, 36 suspected buyers and nine alleged dealers of cocaine and heroine were arrested as a result of a four-month investigation. Forest estimated the street value of the cocaine at $100,000 and the heroine around $6,000. Investigators also confiscated a gun, other drugs and cash.
Among the suspects are white-collar professionals, including lawyers, a doctor and a high school teacher. All the accused buyers were charged with attempt to possess drugs and conspiracy to possess drugs.
