Snow has finally begun to fall in Monmouth County, one of the latest areas to see the winter storm take hold.
News 12's Tony Caputo is off Route 34 in Colts Neck where flakes began falling and sticking to the grass just around noon. Salt trucks were out to help keep road conditions as safe as possible after long periods of rain in the morning.
Temperatures are a few degrees above freezing, but conditions for snowfall are expected to pick up between noon and 6 p.m. across New Jersey.
Large flakes fell as the storm started to strengthen, which is expected to continued to grow into the evening hours.
