The recall follows testing that identified the presence of Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens. It could put immunocomprised patients at risk for invasive infections.

Smyrna, TN, Vi-Jon, LLC is expanding its recall of Magnesium Citrate Saline Laxative Oral Solution Lemon Flavor (10-fluid-ounce).
The product is used for relief of constipation and was distributed nationwide to wholesale and retail outlets.
The recall follows testing that identified the presence of Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens. It could put immunocomprised patients at risk for invasive infections.

The company says it has so far received one report of an adverse reaction.
The company advises anyone who has these product to stop using them and return it to the place of purchase. Anyone experiencing issues from taking the product should contact their physician or health care provider and report the issue to the Food and Drug Administration's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program either online, by regular mail or by fax.
