Sleeping man with BB or pellet gun prompts large police response
There were some tense moments outside a U.S. Postal facility in Hudson County Tuesday morning after police received reports that there was an armed man asleep in his car outside.
A concerned citizen called Kearny police Tuesday just before 12 p.m. for reports of an armed man outside the postal facility on the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue. The call prompted a large police response around the facility, closing several roadways around Harrison and Bergen avenues.
Police determined that the man inside the car had a BB or pellet gun and he was taken into custody.
Police say that there was no threat to the public.
It was not clear why the man was asleep outside the postal facility or if he would face any charges.
No injuries were reported.
