The Hoboken City Council approved the "Skip The Stuff" ordinance to reduce single use plastic waste.

Restaurants can only include items like plastic utensils and condiment packets in deliveries if customers specifically request them.

If Mayor Ravi Bhalla signs the measure, the new law will take effect Sept. 1.

Businesses will then have a 60-day window to comply.

Hoboken now joins Red Bank and Garwood as pioneers in this environmental initiative.
