The countdown to coaster season is on as Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson prepares for an opening day that promises changes to multiple areas and rides throughout the park.

The park will reopen to the public on March 28, with an exclusive season passholder preview night on March 27 from 5 to 9 p.m. When the rides roar back to life, Six Flags says visitors can expect several enhancements, including newly installed track on El Toro “for a smoother ride experience.”

The park has also improved its Wi-Fi service and refreshed dining areas, adding new menu items and a Best of the West: Smokehouse eatery. Main Street Pub is also undergoing upgrades. In addition, more live entertainment is being planned, with a new Main Street Stage behind the popular fountain.

The park’s opening will also feature a new Safari Spring Break Celebration from March 28 to April 12. During the event, guests will be able to experience up-close animal encounters, entertainment and “immersive photo opportunities,” the park said.

“The celebration coincides with the return of Safari Off-Road Adventure access from inside the amusement park. With more than 1,200 animals from six continents, including elephants, rhinos, tigers, giraffes and lions, this expansive safari experience is included with theme park admission for guests, passholders and members,” Six Flags said in a statement.

The changes are the latest in what the park calls a “multi-year investment plan” that includes construction of a new roller coaster set to debut in 2027.
