(09/22/06) FORT LEE ? Police toting shotguns and rifles descended on a Fort Lee Holiday Inn Friday morning following a fatal shooting at the hotel.
Police say one man, 29-year-old David Taylor of Florida, was killed during some type of cash transaction. They are not sure what the transaction was for, but they believe drugs may have been involved. According to investigators, Taylor was part of a group of four, two men and two women, staying in two separate rooms at the hotel. Police say two other individuals who weren't part of the group were also part of the shooting.
Investigators believe Taylor was called into the other couple's room, presumably to complete the transaction. When he entered, police say he found the other man from his group bound. Taylor was then shot.
Police say they are still searching for the two other individuals, one of which they believe to be the shooter. Three others are in police custody. According to investigators, $30,000 was found at the crime scene.
