Some people had to be rescued
from their cars in the high water near the Garden State Plaza following Monday night’s storm.
Rescues were made after cars were stuck deep in the water, but it wasn't just Paramus.
Hackensack also dealt with heavy floodwaters, and high-water units had to rescue people from their flooded-out cars.
It was much of the same
story in Clifton, where storm drains could not keep up with the heavy rain.
People who live nearby say
this was the worst they have ever seen it get.
"It usually
doesn't reach to the other sidewalk and this far back," says
Christian Alvarez, with Advance Auto Parts. "Usually, it’s just this corner."
There were no reports of any serious injuries from the storm.
