A 21-year-old undergraduate Seton Hall University student was struck and killed by a train in South Orange last week.
Joseph DeBari, of Bridgewater, was killed when he was hit by a train on the Morris and Essex Line near the South Orange station last Wednesday night.
DeBari was a junior accounting major in the Stillman School of Business. He was also a sports editor for the school newspaper, according to his obituary.
Seton Hall interim President Dr. Katia Passerini released a statement and said "since his passing, I have read recollections of Joseph’s kindness, generosity, friendship and commitment to improving the University."
"Though our emotions are still raw as we feel his absence and grieve his loss, we can take a measure of consolation in the beautiful memories he provided for many, many people," Passerini said.
