About a dozens senior citizens across New Jersey have fallen victim to a bizarre burglary scheme.Police in Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, Greenwich, Lopatcong and HackettstownSay the elderly are reporting crooks are forcing their way into their homes. Frank Grabinski, of Hackettstown, claims a woman rummaged through all of his rooms after pushing her way into his home. Grabinski followed the woman through his home until she stopped to sit with him in the kitchen. He says the woman then got up and left without a word about who she was or what she wanted. Grabinski says although he thought it was strange, the community is friendly so he didn't question the encounter. Grabinski?s family members notified Hackettstown police, who said it was the second report of such an incident. Officials say they suspect the woman is either trying to lure homeowners out of their residences or distract them to allow another person in to go through the house.Luckily, Grabinski says it doesn't appear anything was stolen. However, police are urging residents not to answer the door for strangers. They advise people to ask to see ID and if something seems strange, call the police.
