U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker have announced that over $66 million in federal funding will go to fighting the opioid crisis in New Jersey.
According to the CDC, more than 100,000 Americans have died from drug overdoses in 2021. That reflects a more than 15% increase since 2020.
The federal funding will expand efforts to address the crisis, and offer individuals facing addiction the help they need.
