Tonight, marks the second night of Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, and the New Jersey Attorney General issued a statement that there will be added security during the High Holy Days.
It's one of most sacred holidays in the Jewish calendar year and security and safety are top of mind. While there is no specific threat to New Jersey, Attorney General Matthew Platkin put out a statement to Facebook Monday stating that law enforcement will continue to maintain a strong presence, especially in sensitive places including Jewish houses of worship, schools and cultural centers, ahead of the High Holy Days - Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur coming up in October.
Rosh Hashana in the Hebrew language means head of the year. Religious services are going to be available all day long and the holiday will end tomorrow at dusk.
