Portions of Route 440 in Jersey City were closed Tuesday after heavy rain across the state led to street flooding.
A section of the roadway was blocked off near Kellogg Street.
Jersey City officials say there was an issue with the Department of Transportation's sewer pipe.
New Jersey DOT crews were eventually able to pump water out of the intersection.
