(03/26/07) EDISON ? The parents of a missing Edison teen breathed a sigh of relief Monday morning after their son was found safe.
Police say 16-year-old Kevin Song, who may have a mental condition, wandered away from his Sandlewood Drive home just after midnight Sunday. After an all-night search, police located Song about 10 miles away from his home in Linden?s White Diamond Diner. Song, who apparently walked into the diner in his slippers, was found around 9 a.m.
According to police, Song?s location was part of a tip. ?Apparently, a phone call had come in to John P. Stevens High School, where he attends on a regular basis,? said Sgt. Robert Dudash of the Edison Police Department. ?A tip was given to the vice principal that the male may be found at the White Diamond Diner.?
Song?s parents had no comment on the matter.
