The search continues for a missing Burlington County man who was lost Thursday night while fishing on the Navesink River
Rumson police, as well as other Monmouth County officials, are searching the river under and around the Oceanic Bridge, which crosses the river between Middletown Rumson, for the missing fisherman.
The brother of the missing man identifies him as 50-year-old Nadem Aksoy, of Bordentown. Nadem was out fishing on his kayak with a friend, who was also on a kayak, around midnight as the storm was approaching.
"He looked at his phone, the storm was coming, and then he called his friend, he was on kayak too,” says Mujdad Aksoy, Nadem’s brother.

They agreed to get out of the water, but apparently, it was already too late. A short time later, his brother’s kayak turned over.

"So he saw him and the kayak flipped over, and then he dropped the order comes up trying to hold onto the kayak and after that he didn't see him, but he was yelling to him help yourself,” says Mujdad.

He's holding out hope his brother will be found alive, considering his experience on a kayak.

"My brother, he's been using kayak long time,” says Mujdad.
