Police in Sayreville have made arrests in the vandalism of church artifacts at St. Stan?s church.

In Old Bridge, at the home of one of the suspects, police found numerous baby Jesus figures in a car near the residence. Among the figures was the baby Jesus statue that was stolen from St. Stan?s church nativity on New Year?s Eve.

At the home of the second suspect police say they found pieces of the broken crucifix and the rope they believe was tied to the cross and used to pull it down. Police believe the suspects planned to set all the baby Jesus figures on fire.
