Parents shopping for back-to-school items should be aware that clothing and footwear purchases under $110 are exempt from sales tax in Dutchess County.

This is a per-item exemption, so those purchasing multiple clothing and footwear items will see some big savings!
Dutchess County is the only county in the Mid-Hudson Valley region to offer such a tax saving.
It went into effect back in the beginning of March.
