Rutgers University police: Sigma Chi fraternity house on College Avenue burglarized

Authorities say the residents of the house were on their way home when they saw the two thieves leaving the house and decided to confront the duo.

Rutgers University police say they are investigating a burglary at the Sigma Chi Fraternity house on College Avenue in New Brunswick.

According to campus police, two people broke into and robbed the fraternity house Wednesday at 7:07 p.m. on Hardenbergh Street.

Authorities say the residents of the house were on their way home when they saw the two thieves leaving the house and decided to confront the duo. No one was injured but the alleged thieves fled the area.

Police say the description of the suspects is limited. The Rutgers University Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the RUPD's Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.
