After years of water damage to the roof at Trenton Central High School?s Medical Arts Academy, crews have finally started to fix the gym and auditorium.
School officials say approximately two years ago, rainwater began leaking into the building. They say the plaster eventually started to fall off the ceiling and walls. The school decided to close off the area and cancel gym classes. Instead, students took health classes. Some students were worried they may not graduate because they couldn?t fulfill their gym requirements.
Many students and parents want to know why it took the school so long to fix the roof. School officials say the district leases the building from Edison Schools Incorporated. They say the delays in repairs came from that company. School officials say the work on the gym?s roof should be completed by the time the students return from winter break.
