One of the most unique homes in the Hudson Valley is drawing visitors for the holidays.

The Armour-Stiner Octagon House in Irvington was built in the mid-1800s and is the only eight-sided domed residence known to exist. Its Victorian design and ornate details make it a standout destination for history lovers.

Originally constructed in 1860 by Irish financier Paul Armour, the home was later purchased by Joseph Stiner, who added the dome, veranda, and elaborate ornamentation.

The house has been restored to its 1870s appearance by preservation architect Joseph Pell Lombardi, who bought it in 1978.

Tours began in 2019, offering a glimpse into rooms like the Egyptian Room and a dining area set for Christmas. Owners say the home serves as a living example of preservation and education.
