An annual solar eclipse will cross over North, Central and South America this weekend.

Known as the “Ring of Fire,” this will be the last visible annular solar eclipse until June 2039.

The rainy weather expected this Saturday will mean that viewing the eclipse in the tristate area will be very limited.

News 12’s Michele Powers spoke with NASA's Molly Wasser about how the eclipse happens and how to safely view it.
