As police continue their search for the man who abducted and raped a young woman from Lakewood, the Orthodox Jewish community is taking matters into its own hands.
The Lakewood Vaad, a council of rabbis from the town, is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
According to police, the 20-year-old victim was snatched from the Shoprite Plaza parking lot off Route 9. She had just finished working out at the Trim-Gym Fitness Center and was walking to her car when she was taken. Her attacker returned her to the lot early the following morning.
Police say the suspect is driving a green Jeep Cherokee with either NY or NJ plates.Related Information
