Most Red Bank employees are chopping a day off their work week as part of the borough's efforts to cut costs.
All borough employees, except police and public works, will work 10-hour days Monday through Thursday. That includes the municipal court, the tax office, sewer and water, code enforcement and the finance offices.
"We're probably looking in terms of energy savings in the range of approximately $80,000 - $100,000" says Mayor Pasquale Menna. "Any savings are welcomed."
Officials say this change is only test. If it works out well, it could be put into effect for next year as well.
