Are you dreaming of a trip abroad or here in the U.S. but have checked fares and just want to give up? Don't because we have tips on how you can still grab a good deal.

Kathy Nastro, of going.com, says there are ways to get a deal. She says search smart by looking for flights first and then the destination.

Nastro says be flexible with dates and times. Traveling at the end of August instead of the middle of July can save you up to 40%.

While tickets to Greece are really expensive another option that's more affordable would be to travel to Croatia. That's why Nastro says being flexible is important. She says there are also still good deals to places like the Bahamas.

Another important tip is to always check your mileage points.
