last-minuteThe temperatures for the remainder of the week will trend on the cooler side of seasonable. Normal bedtime temperatures are in the upper 20s and daily highs are in the low 40s. It's not the obnoxious cold that everyone will remember when we look back on this winter, but it's below the seasonal norm.
Tonight, our skies will clear as fair weather moves in from the Great Lakes. Winds could be on the gustier side, so it will feel colder waiting for the bus or train in the morning.
Friday is here and the weather is cooperating. There is nothing spooky about this Friday the 13th forecast.
Friday night has a possible interesting feature swinging through in the overnight hours (after midnight). There is a fast-moving disturbance that will usher in some passing snow showers. Will it collect? No, not really. The majority of the flakes fall when we are asleep, but waking up on Saturday morning, it's possible there might be a general coating in northern New Jersey.
Valentine's Day is wonderful. Mainly sunny skies and seasonable temperatures for anyone running around looking for last minute gifts for loved ones.
Let's quickly talk about the possible storm for Sunday into Monday. There is still a little confusion on how the model guidance is handling this atmospheric feature. The overall flow in the sky is "flat," moving more west to east than in any other direction. When the storm develops over north Texas by late Friday night, it should move towards the Carolinas and not steer northward.
I do think there will be some overrunning moisture in the form of clouds. It's possible that if the moisture meets up with the lingering cold air at night, there might be some snow showers.
