Hundreds of feet of steel, and decades of history came crashing down as WOR Radio demolished three transmitter towers dating back to 1965 located in the Meadowlands . Many in the radio business, as well as workers in the area, came to witness the end of an era and enjoy a spectacle. The towers are being replaced by high-definition radio transmitters located a half mile away. While some of the history may be lost, station officials say WOR's listeners are gaining a far superior audio experience.
