(11/09/06) PISCATAWAY ? The undefeated Rutgers, yes Rutgers, football squad is preparing to take on Louisville in one of the biggest college football games of the year Thursday.
Students lined up early for pre-game festivities outside the stadium to savor the experience of possibly watching their team go to 9-0 for the first time ever. Fans remember when they had to watch more losses than wins on a consistent basis, but those days seem like ancient history to some. Tickets are extremely hard to come by. Governor Jon Corzine (D-NJ) even had to put in a personal call to the athletics department to purchase two seats to the game.
Rutgers is ranked 15th in the nation, while Louisville is ranked third. If the Scarlet Knights win tonight to remain undefeated, the team will head to West Virginia. Several students say they will be hitting the road to follow the team, even though many of them have important exams the next day.
