The parents of a 5-year-old boy in Weehawken say their son was dropped off by the school bus more than a mile away from their home – and they say he wasn't even supposed to be on the bus in the first place, according to a published report.
According to NBC New York, the parents of Eduardo Aguilera say he was supposed to be in Daniel Webster Elementary’s "Extended Care" program and shouldn't have been told to get on the bus.
The mother says her son told her someone told him to get on the bus, although he had a sticker on his shirt indicating he belongs to the program.
The program begins at 2:50 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
A nanny spotted the lost boy alone. Reports say the boy told her he was lost.
The family plans to meet with district officials today.
