Ten "Tax Day Tea Parties" were held throughout the Garden State Wednesday to protest what some feel is exorbitant government spending.
The parties were part of a nationwide effort to share frustrations with the spending lawmakers say will help dig the country out of a recession. The rallies were modeled after the original Boston Tea Party.
Protest sites included the Belmar Boardwalk, the Morristown Green and the steps of the statehouse in Trenton. Organizers say more events could follow.
