A Prospect Park councilman has admitted to being a part of an illegal gambling operation tied to the Lucchese organized crime family.
Anand Shah, 44, was among dozens charged in the case since the initial set of arrests in 2025.
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office says he worked as a sportsbook agent, poker manager and confessed to being a host in illegal poker clubs.
He would take a percentage of the bet money from the games held by the ring.
The proceeds attributed to him from Jan. 2017 to Aug. 2023 totaled $900,084, according to investigators.
Shah entered a guilty plea to charges including racketeering, money laundering and official misconduct.
Authorities say the state will recommend a sentence of 10 years in state prison under the terms of his plea agreement.
He must also forfeit his title as councilman and is banned from ever holding public office.
The sentencing is set to take place on Dec. 4.
