? Prosecutors laid out graphic details to jurors Monday in the trial of a nurse accused of killing her husband and stuffing his dismembered body into three suitcases.
Prosecutors say Melanie McGuire shot her husband, William, twice before cutting up his body three years ago. They claim she then stuffed the body parts into the suitcases and tossed the remains into the Chesapeake Bay in May 2004. According to prosecutors, Melanie was also having an affair with a doctor at the fertility clinic where she worked.
Defense lawyers claim all of the evidence in the case is circumstantial. Meanwhile, McGuire made her $2 million bail and has been free since her arrest in 2005.
