The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the woman killed in Newark’s second quadruple shooting in less than 24 hours.
Authorities say that Shirlena Coke, 22, of Bloomfield was shot and killed Monday around 5:45 p.m. in a shooting on the 700 block of South 19th Street. Three men were also shot, but officials say they did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office says that the identities of the three men shot would not be provided due to security reasons.
No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made, according to officials.
The shooting Monday evening happened just a few blocks from a shooting that morning. Three people were shot at Fabyan Place and Beverly Street, officials said. A fourth person was reportedly grazed.
Newark police said they have found no indication that the shootings were related.
Anyone who may have any information about either shooting is asked to call the prosecutor’s tip line at 1-877-847-7432.
