Authorities say two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Haledon Saturday night.
It happened shortly before midnight at Belmont Avenue near John Street.
In a press release, the Passaic County prosecutor and the Haledon police chief say a Fiat 500 vehicle driven by 49-year-old Corrado LaRosa, of Haledon, collided with a Nissan Murano operated by 21-year-old Anthony Crespo, of Oakland.
LaRosa was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in his vehicle, identified as 50-year-old Tina LaRosa, also of Haledon, was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Crespo was also taken to St. Joseph's for treatment of minor injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time in connection to the crash, but authorities say the investigation "remains active and ongoing."
The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office asks anyone with additional information about the incident to call its tips line at 1-877-370-PCPO or to email tips@passaiccountynj.org, or to contact the Haledon Police Department at 973-790-4444.
