A South Plainfield man is facing murder charges in a triple shooting at his home Monday morning.
Police were called to the townhouse and condominium complex “Traditions” around 9 a.m. for reports of a shooting. A man and woman were pronounced dead inside the home. A second man was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries. All three victims were shot.
The victims were identified as 72-year-old Dilipkumar Brahmbhatt, 72-year-old Bindu Brahmbhatt and 38-year-old Yashkumar Brahmbhatt.
Investigators arrested 23-year-old Om Brahmbhatt and charged him with the killings. He was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and weapons charges.
It was not clear how the victims and suspect were related, but they all shared the same last name and lived in the same home.
Om Brahmbhatt is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of a pre-trial detention hearing.
