Prosecutor: Man accused of killing Sayreville councilwoman returns to NJ

The man accused of killing a Sayreville councilwoman is now back in New Jersey.
Rashid Ali Bynum was arrested in Virginia on May 30. He is accused of killing Republican Sayreville Council Member Eunice Dwumfour on Feb. 1. She was shot multiple times while sitting inside her SUV outside her Sayreville apartment complex.
A motive for the killing remains unclear.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office says that Bynum was extradited from Virginia to New Jersey on Thursday. He faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder. He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility pending a pre-trial detention hearing.
