A 6-month-old infant girl died after being left inside a parked car in East Hanover, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
Officials say East Hanover police were called to a parking lot on South Ridgedale Avenue Wednesday afternoon for reports of a baby left inside a parked car. Officials say that paramedics attempted to revive the baby, but she was pronounced dead at the hospital. The child’s mother was also taken to the hospital for treatment, but details were not provided.
The prosecutor says that the baby was left unattended inside the car prior to her death. Temperatures in Morris County reached the mid-90s by Wednesday afternoon.
No charges have been filed at this time.
This is the second baby to die this week in New Jersey after being left inside of a parked car. An 8-week-old baby girl died on Monday after being left inside a car in Lakewood. The girl’s father is facing child endangerment charges.
