Two more men have been charged in connection with a deadly high-speed crash in Toms River earlier this year.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office says 20-year-old Jake Beauchamp and 18-year-old Ryan Rivera are charged in connection with a crash on Route 37 in March that killed two people and injured two more.

Officials say Beauchamp and Rivera were passengers in a BMW driven by 18-year-old Carlos D. Martinez. They say that Martinez was driving drunk, ran through a red light and struck a Toyota Camry, killing 23-year-old Evan Fiore and 21-year-old Kiley Armstrong. Armstrong’s twin sister and another passenger were seriously injured.

Officials say that this crash came after the BMW fled police at speeds of around 118 mph.

Martinez was in court on Thursday to face a judge, who ordered him to remain in jail until his trial.

Beauchamp and Rivera each face multiple charges, including aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide, hindering prosecution and suppressing evidence. Those charges were revealed Thursday during Martinez’s detention hearing.

Martinez’s defense attorney claims that it cannot be certain that his client was driving the BMW because he says the prosecutor presented evidence that Beauchamp was driving at the start of the incident.
