An explosion at a truck repair shop in Gloucester County killed one person.
The explosion occurred around 10:40 a.m. at Timberland Services in Harrison Township Wednesday morning.
The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office says that a worker at the business was killed. Helicopter footage of the building shows a hole in the roof of one of the bays.
Details surrounding the explosion remain unclear. State and local law enforcement agencies are investigating.
Timberland Services is located on Swedesboro Road in Harrison Township. People working at nearby businesses said that they felt the explosion.
“All of a sudden there was a loud bang, and it honestly sounded like it was coming from the kennel, so we were worried,” says Jen Testa, of the Delaware Valley Veterinary Hospital. “I was thinking maybe an oxygen tank or maybe something like that exploded.”
Another worker from the animal hospital told News 12 that she saw smoke in the distance.
