(08/15/06) EWING ? The Trenton-Mercer Airport may soon offer New Jersey travelers a gateway to the rest of the world.
Delta?s connection carrier, ComAir, is looking to provide connections from Trenton-Mercer to Boston Logan and Atlanta Hartsfield international airports. Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes says from those two destinations, residents can fly to locations all over the globe. Currently, Pan Am is the only commercial airline at the airport. Travelers and county leaders hope the proposed plan will increase competition and decrease fares.
Many travelers think the addition of the routes is a great idea. However, others say there isn?t enough business in the area to make the idea fly. Either way, Mercer County executives could approve the plan as early as Thursday.
