Two weeks after a former Long Branch high school athlete was found shot to death, police have arrested three men in his murder.
Keith Mason, 28, was found shot once in his home on Second Avenue. Investigators say Mason was shot while his 2-year-old son looked on. According to the Monmouth County prosecutor, the motive for the fatal robbery was drugs. Police say the three suspects believed Mason was in possession of marijuana.
Qumere McClenden and Paul Lewis, of Long Branch, and Darnell Stovell, from Lakewood, have been charged with robbery and murder. The Monmouth County prosecutor won?t reveal which of the suspects may have actually shot Mason. Bail for all three men has been set at $1.5 million.
