President Trump takes shot at NFL ratings in tweet
President Donald Trump took to Twitter Sunday morning, taking digs at the NFL.
The president highlighted low ratings for Thursday night's opener between Atlanta and Philadelphia to players who refuse to stand for the anthem.
In the tweet, President Trump said, "Wow, NFL first game ratings are way down over an already really bad last year comparison. Viewership declined 13%, the lowest in over a decade. If the players stood proudly for our Flag and Anthem, and it is all shown on broadcast, maybe ratings could come back? Otherwise worse!"
The number was the lowest for an opener since 2008.
