A nearly 300-mile coastal route that runs through some of New Jersey's most picturesque areas will again be eligible for federal funding.
A bill signed by President Donald Trump has restored federal support to the Coastal Heritage Trail.
The measure was one of the last sponsored by retiring New Jersey congressman Rep. Frank LoBiondo.
The automobile route stretches from Sandy Hook along New York Harbor and winds along the coastline through the Cape May region and ends up in the Delsea region along the Delaware Bay.
According to published reports, federal authorization for the route had expired in 2011. It now will be eligible for federal dollars through 2025.
