President Joe Biden is pushing to increase COVID-19 vaccinations with a set of strict new vaccine requirements, and among them, that all employers with more than 100 workers require employees to be vaccinated or get tested for the virus weekly.
The president is also requiring vaccinations for all government employees with no option of regular testing or being able to opt out. The same goes for employees of contractors who do business with the federal government.
"The measures are going to take time to have full impact,” says President Biden. “But if we implement them, I believe and the scientists indicate that the months ahead we can reduce the number of unvaccinated Americans, decrease hospitalizations and deaths and allow our children to go to school safely and keep our economy strong by keeping businesses open."

The president is also taking other measures to tackle the delta variant, including having the TSA double fines for passengers who refuse to wear masks on planes, as well as calling on large entertainment venues to require proof of vaccine or a negative COVID-19 test.
