A new state-run Web site is taking prescription drug shopping digital and saving residents money.
The Prescription Drug Price Registry allows New Jersey residents to compare prices for drugs before they buy them.
Residents just type in the drug?s name and strength, enter their zip code and the site compares prices for 150 of the most frequently prescribed drugs at various pharmacies.
A quick test drive showed a $40 price difference for one drug at New Burnswick pharmacies, and prices ranging from $18 to $36 for another prescription.
Residents say if others are willing to possibly travel a little further to a store that can save them $10 or $15, it?s worth it.
