Powerful storm soaks New Jersey, causes flooding in multiple areas

Hackensack police said multiples cars were stranded in flood waters and several people had to be rescued.

Bergen County continued to dry out Wednesday afternoon after heavy rain and flash flooding.
Flooding on Route 17 northbound south of US-46 in Hasbrouck Heights had all lanes closed for the morning commute. A convertible Ford Mustang was pulled from the high water.

Hackensack police said multiple cars were stranded in flood waters and several people had to be rescued. Thankfully, no one was injured Tuesday night, according to police.
In Englewood, a UPS truck was stuck in water on Jones Road and Palisades Ave. And in Hillsdale, a brook overflowed its banks into the Walgreens and Kings parking lots.
