Voter Registration Hearing
New Jersey's Motor Vehicle Commission voter registration mess was front and center on Capitol Hill.
Representative and House Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight Chair Rep. Jeff Van Drew convened the hearing.
One of the witnesses at the hearing testified that the problem is bigger than the state has admitted and is not limited to the software error that allowed 6,600 noncitizens to register to vote.
The witness also said there are public records to prove it.

It's uncertain as to when former Attorney General Chris Porrino will issue his findings of the investigation into Lt. Gov. Dale Caldwell.
Pressure has been mounting on Gov. Mikie Sherrill's administration for Caldwell to step aside for now and on Sherrill to refrain from any out-of-state trips.
The reason is that critics don't want Caldwell to serve as acting governor until the findings of the investigation are made.
Sussex County GOP Chair Faces Gun Charges in Alleged Road Rage Incident
Chairman of the Sussex County Republican Party Joseph LaBarbera is facing gun charges after an alleged road rage incident.
State police say LaBarbera pointed a gun at another driver on Millbrook Road in Stillwater.
A child was also in that car.
Several Republican lawmakers and officials are calling on LaBarbera to temporarily step aside as party chairman.
LaBarbera says he's not resigning or stepping down.

ICE Accused of Using Roxbury Warehouse
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is accused of ignoring federal court orders by holding detainees at a warehouse in Roxbury.
A civil rights group says people arrested in nearby Dover this month were held there. They were then transferred to other facilities.
This happened despite a ruling that says the warehouse is not to be used as a jail.
The judge says an environmental study is needed.
The state doesn't want an ICE jail there and it's the same for the local Republicans who lead Roxbury.
Advocates told News 12 they've heard from people who were detained there.
The state attorney general's office says it is reviewing the issue.
The Department of Homeland Security told News 12 it has no comment because of the ongoing legal fight.
Hitting Pause on AI Data Center Expansion
Could New Jersey hit pause on the rapidly expanding artificial intelligence data center industry?
A new bill was introduced to delay facility approvals for six months.
It would also create a 12-person commission to do impact studies and potentially create new rules.
Assemblywoman Annette Quijano, who served with former lawmaker John Wisniewski, introduced the legislation.
More towns are looking to ban AI data centers, including Linden, which took up the issue at a City Council meeting.
While Gov. Mikie Sherrill is not stopping the AI data center boom, she is adding more rules.
Data centers must report energy and water use and invest in their communities.
Congress Passes A.M. Radio Bill
The House of Representatives passed legislation requiring all cars sold nationwide to have a.m. radio.
Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. introduced the legislation in response to automakers removing a.m. radio from newer vehicles.
Pallone maintains that getting rid of a.m. threatens the public's access to important information during emergency situations.
The bill will now move to the Senate.
